"May the peace and love of Christ be with all those who participate in the CFC European Conference to be held in Haarlem, the Netherlands, in August 21-23, 2009!" Bishop Precioso Cantillas tells CFC Europe.
Speaking as Chairman of CBCP-ECMI (Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines - Episcopal Commission on the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People), the good bishop prays for the "Lord Jesus Christ [to] be truly present by His Word and Sacrament" in the conference "so that every member of the CFC community will be able to move 'Forward in Christ' as the theme of the Conference proposes."
In his pastoral message, he tells everyone that "even when difficulties and conflicts come..." their way, "it is only Christ and His teachings, through His Church, who can unify" and give "the strength to carry on."
He encourages members of CFC Europe "to look ahead... and not get stuck looking backwards, in order to courageously face the future." CFC Europe should "focus on the good and beautiful things the Lord" has in store for everyone, "and not be pessimistic about the painful events which happened" in their lives, "in order to find the inspiration to move with trust and confidence towards the future."
Finally, he reminds CFC Europe that "Christ’s love and mercy should fill each one of us so that we can also share the same with others."
