In his pastoral message to Couples for Christ Europe on the occasion of the 12th CFC/SOLD European Conference in Haarlem, the Netherlands, Archbishop Ramon Arguelles, the spiritual adviser of CFC Europe, sends his greetings to all members.
"I greet the CFCs in all Europe and encourage all to continue the wonderful work started less than thirty years ago," he said.
He recalled the difficulties Couples for Christ has experienced in the last two years.
"CFC has its share of trials as the whole Church rocked by strong waves and violent winds," he lamented.
He encouraged everyone not to lose faith and continue to trust in the Lord because "CFC is a gift of God to the Church of the Third Milennium," adding that "... the families of the world await the CFCs' witnessing to the sanctity and God-based unity of this basic unit of society and of the Church."
He quoted the late Pope John Paul II at the celebration of the Mass at the Saint Peter's Basilica during the 80s, "You are the youthful bearers of the faith."
Referring to CFC's Asian roots, the good bishop exhorted all CFC members to spread the Good News saying that "CFC must bring the Christian values to the people."
Abp. Arguelles is scheduled to arrive in Amsterdam on 20 August in time for the conference commencing the following day.
